One vs Many? (Solo vs Party Questing): Shared Topic
OK so today I was looking for something to write about and jumped over to the Blog Azeroth site to see if I could find an interesting shared topic. This weeks topic of discussion is party questing vs. solo questing and I thought I would share my ideas and thoughts on the matter as I have always enjoyed WoW for it’s community aspects, but often grind on my own and prefer it that way unless it is doing dailies.
I think there are pro’s and con’s to both and enjoy both in different situations. While questing can last for hours I hate to be slowed down by team mate ‘s when questing. However grouping allows you to smash a kill quest much faster than laboring through it alone. Daily quests are generally something I loath to do however and in general players are so in tune with what needs done I can hit the daily quest hub with a group of guildies and be through in 10 minutes vs. being finished in 20-30 all by my lonesome.
Leveling
When leveling I find myself in the zone and going as quickly as I possibly can from quest point to quest point quickly completing quests as fast as I can trying to turn a new level at lightening speeds. If I am playing with another person however it is possible we get on a gather quest or a chain of gather quests that force me to stay back and assist them with getting their mobs which truly slow me down int he process. As well I generally wait to do any gathering professions until I am level capped, and other players prefer to level professions simultaneously, and nothing aggravates me more than being told to wait while some runs over to that out of the way copper vein they can’t figure out how to get to when I could be using that time for solid leveling.
However If I know I am about to get a good string of kill quests, or I am constantly competing with another Horde Player for quest items in my zone I may ask the another player in the zone if they are interested in grouping to get through it together. However I don’t pay them much attention and go about my way attacking their targets as I cross paths with them.
I do have to bring up the final point of group quests that require groups to complete them. I think they are great when an expansion drops and I love getting a great group for the Arena Champion 5 man quests like The Crucible of Carnage that always offer up a nice weapon such as Oversized Oblique Ogre Obliterator to carry me into the level cap.
Daily Quest Hubs
If there is anything I loath to do it is daily quests. While the first day of daily quests is always new and exciting, I grab my trusty DPS set vowing that I will do the daily quests religiously until I am the first on the server to have those new items by day 5 I would rather fly circles in Orgimmar for hours on end complaining I have nothing to do in the wonderful World of Warcraft.
Usually though there are more dedicated daily quester in guild than I am who understand the importance of completing more than half the requirement in order to obtain those shiny new items and that drags me along to the daily quest hub kicking and screaming to complete them together. Its nice because my discontent for long repetitive grinds is quickly extinguished by the flare of having a partner to speed race through the days grind with.
So in these instances I find Grouping completely beneficial for getting to play with guildies, achieving the goal, and getting through the quests much faster than I normally would. How about you guys lets talk about your preference do you like group questing or soloing? Are you like me and enjoy each in their own circumstances? Discuss!

Nice post man, keep them up
