Lower WoW Latency and Reduce the Lag

WTFast is an online secure shell (SSH) tunneling service aimed at reducing the latency for online games such as World of Warcraft, Eve, Aion, Rift, and Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR). I personally have been using WTFast for the better part of about 2 years now I guess, and have seen dramatic results since I play from abroad. When I first began using WTFast I was actually working out of an Embassy in the middle east which had very poor internet reception.
I would log into WoW without ever being able to play due to my 1000 + latency. I then found WTFast online which resulted in pushing my online gaming latency down to around 400. Now 400 latency wasn’t exactly optimal, but it was certainly playable for me at the time. I raided Naxxramas, and Ulduar before leaving that location to move to Thailand where Unohorn still uses WTFast playing on an Oceanic Server with varied ping rates from around 150-250 which is pretty good. If she is not using WTFast here in Thailand she generally has around a 300 – 400 ping. So as a personal testimonial I would certainly say we have had great success with WTFast, and would recommend it for anyone looking to lower their online gaming latency. The only reason I am not personally using WTFast at the moment is because of its lack of support of Mac users.
Now my case is a pretty extreme case because obviously I live and work in very far off places compared to most online gamers. If you currently are running with latency that sits around 150 I certainly see no need in purchasing WTFast unless you are truly involved in competitive online gaming. The average user can not notice a real change in their game-play until they reach around 200ms. At 200 ms is where the first signs of noticeable latency will start to appear, if they even appear at all.
If you are playing at anything over 200 ms I do recommend at least checking out WTFast’s free trial. In fact if you are thinking of purchasing WTFast at all you should head over to download the free trial, and see how effective it is at optimizing your online gaming latency before you commit. The free trial will allow you to log in to WTFast, but will disconnect you every 20 minutes until you upgrade to the full version.
WTFast is comparably the best online gaming latency optimizer out there right now. Rob Bartlett who is the owner of WTFast responds very quickly to support questions, and even offers you 3 months of free service if you can find any service which is noticeably faster than WTFast. I have personally contacted support a couple times and within 24hrs. I have received a personal response every single time. There is also a support forum which is somewhat active with helpful people who also use WTFast, and it probably already has an answer to any questions you may already have.
WTFast as I mentioned earlier however does not currently support Mac’s. I have pushed Rob on when he will open WTFast to Mac user’s however at this time he says there is no plans on expanding to the Mac market. This sort of sucks for me, but even for Mac users there are a few other SSH tunneling services out there as well.
So for my personal review short of having support for Macintosh users I love the service.
Personal WTFast Review Rating – 9
One of the best ways any company can really stand by their service is to offer you a chance to try it out. WTFast offers a free trial to anyone who is interested in their service, and wanting to know what kind of lower latency results they can achieve. By heading over to their site and filling out a quick sign up form you can be on your way to possibly increasing your survivability and improving your DPS with the biggest buff of all; “a faster ping rate”.
There is only one catch to the free trial. You can use the free trial for as long as you like, but you will be disconnected every 20 minutes. The reason for disconnecting you is to obviously keep people from abusing the free trial, but it certainly gives you plenty of time to see if WTFast is the right online gaming latency reducer solution for you.
If you are interested in checking out WTFast then simply follow the link below or click on the banner above to be taken to the WTFast site, and begin your free trial.
Wtfast is a 3rd party program which acts entirely outside of World of Warcraft. With that being said it is entirel a seperate program and does not communicate directly with WoW in any way. What it actually does is reconfigure your network settings and connection path in order to receive a more optimal ping to the Blizzard servers, and back to your computer. I wanted to take the time and debunk the myth that Blizzard will ban you for using services like WTFast by posting a few blue posts from the official WoW forums that state using WTFast will not get you banned. Keep in mind they are generally talking about 3rd party software and to make sure you check out any software you intend to use in order to make sure it is not Malicious. You can scan WTFast with Norton or McAfee and find 0 malicious traces of software, and both IGN and Fileplanet have given WTFast a thumbs up on security. So please feel free to check out these blue posts or post links to other blueposts in the comments and I will add those also.
We do not directly have anything against such services (we have no preference as to which route you take in order to connect to our servers). However, proxies are routinely used to hide the actions of online trading companies and users attempting to use exploitative third party programs. We neither condone nor prohibit the use of proxy services for legitimate purposes, but please always remember that you will do so at your own risk.
As you have discovered, we will do our best to ensure that any undeserved account actions are swiftly removed, but the potential for inconvenience is something you need to accept if you are going to run programs such as this.
Please keep in mind that using such services can potentially open your computer to new risks, depending on how that service is handled, so make sure to research these solutions thoroughly.
Using these services is not now, nor has it ever, been a violation of our Terms of Use. Simply using a proxy is not enough to cause us to take action on your account. But! they’re not officially supported either.
The reason why use of a proxy can be an issue is that the majority of organizations that abuse the game use proxies themselves. While we work to detect and stop these activities, we also work to prevent any ‘false positive’ results; but they do sometimes occur. Our false positive percentage is minuscule in relation to the number of accounts actually found in true violation of our policies, but they can happen. We work as fast as possible to review these cases and get our legitimate players back in the game.
If you do use, or want to use, a proxy/tunneling service, you can help prevent the likelihood of becoming a false positive by using the proxy service consistently.
We’re continually improving our abilities to detect those that violate our policies, and with that we’re continually improving our ability to more accurately identify (or rather, not identify) those that are using proxies legitimately.
