Paladins Losing the OP QQ
Ok so I play a Paladin class and these recent announcements of what may be coming up in Patch 3.3 are really disheartening to me. Having played my Pally since TBC I have been through the downs and ups in that order. The Paladin was always a support class until WOTLK came along. If you have not got a clue as to what im referring to there are a few nerfs on the table in the upcoming patch 3.3 for the Paladin. A few of the nerfs include Aura mastery being reduced down to 6 seconds from 10, Lay of Hands only being castable on other players, and the biggest one that has people going crazy is probably Sacred Shield being nerfed to only proc every 30 seconds.
The nerf to Lay of Hands I can deal with as its cool down is so long I never have began to rely on it. Mind you I don’t forget about it and it has helped me more than once but not having it is something I could get used to. My main spec however is a holy paladin Aura Mastery is something I have come to gain great control of and in patch 3.2 I really have learned to love having it in my tool box. Its an asset to the raid in a big way as it doubles all other aura attributes and makes those affected by your concentration aura immune to silence. Timed right this ability is sweet!
I read an argument about sacred shield really being a nerf to Ret Paladins in PvP and the combination being a push for Healers to include it in their focused kit.Well I don’t know about that as I have always had Sacred Shield out and I pretty much keep it up on the tank at all times. If a player pulls a mob then I am quickly able to move the Sacred Shield over to them and start spamming Flash of Light for the increased healing all the while giving better heals to my tank who also is sporting a sexy beacon. I feel like this a HUGE nerf that is unjustified to the Holy Paladin. But thanks to those Prot spec PvP Paladins who are basically unkillable we are taking the hit. I say take the Sacred Shield out of their tool kit all together if you want to balance it out.
So Lets have a debate. If you roll a Paladin or have an opinion on the possible upcoming nerfs tell us what you think. Post a comment below or look for this post in the forums.

Any class played well in a PvP situation is hard to beat, doesn’t matter about class or spec.
THank you well stated and I second your thoughts. I love the PVE aspect of the game. I feel Pally’s got the short end of the stick for a long time, and there are other classes out there that are still rediculously overpowered and have been for a long time *cough druid healers cough*. I enjoy the BG’s and yeah sure its really hard to kill a Paladin. The thing a paladin’s only real defense is well his defenses. He outlasts his opponent in many cases. The Ret spec is strong but I dont feel its any stronger than a mage who poymorphs me every 10 seconds plasts e with frost nova runs away and repeats.. Or the Warlock with the incredicle dots which I can only wipe away one time before my bubble is on cool down then have to heal get more dots run cleanse repentance if Im lucky before he fears and puts even more dots on me. The pally class is not OP. If you come at a pally with no cool downs your in for a slam Ive noticed that its hard for me to come right out of one fight and straight into another. I have a huge wait time on several cool downs.
I play a PvE Prot Pally, no PvP for me on this toon. Dual specc is ret since I have an 80 priest healer. I have been playing this game for over 4 years. I’ve been through the ups and the downs of all the nerfs for everyone, but never experienced it as a pally until this up coming patch. I, for one, LOVE my LoH as a RAIDING Pally. If my healer starts to get low, and I am too, and it’s say, not a priest healer (Binding heal is amazing) I tell them to focus heal themselves, and I just pop LoH on myself. Now, mind you, it’s a rarity that I EVER need to use LoH, but I like to have it for those OH SHIT moments that really count. If blizzard wants to get rid of the whole LoH thing, nmake it like it is for arenas. Unusable inside a BG. Don’t take it away from the PvEers. Not everyone in this game likes PvP thank you, (I used to love it), and we don’t take advantage (in a negative context) of the abilities given to us. Most of you QQers about classes being “Too OP” are all PvPers. Don’t like it? Reroll or move to PvE. Don’t want to? GO to a PvP based MMO. But don’t screw those of us who don’t QQ because we RAID and make us slowly start to hate Blizzard and start to leave the game.
